ABOUT

ABOUT US

Having spent almost every weekend at 'The Chalet' with his parents, my husband was keen to have somewhere where other families could enjoy the beauty of the New Forest just like he did.

As a young family, we have spent quality time in and around Lymington and we just love the 'vibe' of this beautiful little town. The people are lovely and there is lots to offer in the way of activities, walks, pubs & restaurants.

Camellia Cottage is situated in arguably one of the most desirable residential streets south of Lymington High Street within close proximity to the marinas, yacht clubs, pubs, parks, saltwater baths, Quay and the town centre.

We really hope you create some precious memories and fall in love with the Forest just like we have.

SEE & DO

About Lymington

Lymington is a charming Georgian market town, nestled between the New Forest and the sea. The shops, bars and restaurants along with 2 large marinas and sailing clubs make Lymington the perfect base for exploring the New Forest and South coast.

Every Saturday Lymington’s lovely Georgian High Street is bustling with its famous Charter Market dating back to the year 1250. You'll also find a wide range of independent shops selling everything from nauticalia and antiques to clothes, shoes and foodie treats.

At the bottom of the high street, Quay Hill's cobbled lane winds down to Lymington river, the harbour, marinas and sea water swimming baths (complete with inflatable obstacle course!)

The Wightlink ferry for the Isle of Wight runs from Lymington Pier and we're close to the Solent Way, a 60 mile footpath running along the South Coast where you can walk through the salt marshes and along the sea wall to Keyhaven and Hurst Castle.

Things to do and places to see

All around Lymington is the beautiful New Forest National Park with delightful walks, drives and cycle paths. Take a trip through the New Forest and you'll see the abundant wildlife, with New Forest Ponies, cattle and donkeys roaming wild. In the autumn pigs are let loose across the New Forest to forage for acorns.

Lymington's renowned Annual Seafood Festival takes place on 16th 17th and 18th July this year. See https://www.lymingtonseafoodfestival.co.uk for more details.

A short drive away, you'll find Beaulieu's famous Motor Museum, Palace and Abbey and the historic shipbuilding village of Bucklers Hard. Exbury gardens and steam railway are also nearby.

Horse riding can be booked at several locations locally and cycle hire is very popular in the New Forest with plenty of bike tracks to explore. The picturesque  9 hole Walhampton Golf Course overlooking the Solent welcomes visitors. And of course, we must mention that Peppa Pig World and Paulton's Theme Park are only a 30 minute drive away.
